Competition debut results in two medals at State Championship

Star made her massage competition debut at the 1st Annual Illinois Massage Championship in Springfield, IL. The winner of the competition obtains a free entry to the American Massage Championship taking place in North Carolina. The competition consisted of the following two categories:

• Open/Freestyle Massage:

  • Must be an LMT

  • Allows participants to use their personal best techniques and methods inspired by Western & Eastern style massage.

    • Methods may include mobilization, cupping, massage tools, classic bodywork, myofascial release, muscle energy & neuromuscular techniques, stretching, spa massage, acupressure, Thai massage, etc.

  • Duration of the Freestyle round is 65 minutes

• Clinical Massage

  • Must be an LMT

  • Goal is to improve the condition of the client and their needs using a combination of massage modalities

Star participated in the Open/Freestyle category where she displayed her Eastern style techniques.

She won the Gold Medal in the Open/Freestyle category - however, she fell short of the Gold-Overall medal (by less than a point) - taking home the Silver-Overall medal.
